Hillary is now openly going after the redneck vote. And the Republicans are now actively messing in the Democratic primary.

Hillary is no longer trying to get elected President -- in 2008. She is trying to get the nomination for 2012. By poisoning the well so much for Barack Obama that he cannot beat John McCain in the fall.

Yet another John McCain lobbying scandal is emerging. Lost in the Elliot Spitzer news is this report that three current McCain campaign advisors lobbied for the European Aeronautic Defence Company for the US military's $35 billion air refuling tanker deal.

Hello, let me introduce myself. I am Mr. Forest. I am important to our political ecosystem. All of the trees you keep perseverating on, and bumping into are fine and dandy. But, I am the real deal.

Just to let you know, the Democratic primary (tree number 1) is not the general election. That would be me (i.e. the Forest).

There can be no doubt about it now. Hillary knows the math as well as anyone. She is unlikely to pass Senator Obama in the pledged delegate count, and is not likely to improve on her performances in Michigan or Florida if there is a revote in those states.

First, let me say that, I know the pattern here. I post something, it gets about 10 recs (on average) and about 20 comments and then suffers a slow agonizing march to oblivion.

This is too important a diary fade away, though. So I'm hoping that you will read it, consider it, and recommend it. I don't give a hoot, so much, about getting my name on the rec list. The reason I want my stuff to be up there is because I think I have valuable insights and ideas to contribute. Some times they are hairbrained. Sometimes they are brilliant. But, this is not about personal aggrandizement or glory.

I have to tell you, I am angry as hell at Hillary Clinton right now.

She is not running a tough primary campaign anymore. She is running a knock down, drag out, dirty as hell general election campaign against Barack Obama. And Obama, for strategic reasons, and because he's worried about winning the general election, is pulling his punches against Hillary.

How can John McCain go around the country arguing that peoplewhould vote for him ver Barack Obama baceuase he has far more experience than Obama does on national security issues?

John McCain HIMSELF rejected that argument in 2000 when he backed George W. Bush for President over the extremely experienced, sitting Vice President of the United States, Al Gore.

I call on John McCain to denounce AND reject James Baker, who once said:

Markos is absolutely, 100% correct. Barack Obama has no moral, ethical, legal, or any other obligation to tell the hundreds of thousands of ordinary folks who have enlisted in his campaign for change, and donated small sums of money to it, to go jump in the lake.

I am sure I will get another round of dismissive, condescending comments about continuing to raise this issue, but the sad fact is that it's is not going away. If anything, it is starting to become a problem for Obama.

This is rather unorthodox, but I am reposting a diary I wrote and posted yesterday because I think this subject and issue are extremely important. Especially in light of last night's election results.

In 2004, I along with a few others, saw the threat posed by the Swiftboat Liars for Bush well befre even the Kerry campaign did. I still had a blog then, and I sent my readers to the Swiftboat website message boards to fact check and act as a truth squad. Eventually, we were all banned after making ourselves an irritant. I e-mailed people in the Kerry campaign with factual debunkings. I raised the alarm in numerous posts on my blog. But I didn't have enough of a megaphone to get them to pay attention.

Making the wingnut-o-sphere rounds is a report from the Fox affiliate in Houston depicting a group of obama volunteers with a Che Guevara flag hanging in the office.

This is interesting. While John McCain may take a slightly more moderate tone in his highly anticipated speech at CPAC this week, he has been dialing up Conservatives with an obsequious and pathetic robocalling operation promising to tow the line on all the conservatoive pet causes including appointing nutjob ideolgical Judges like Roberts and Alito.

One could, at this point, insert the requisite joke that a protracted state-by-state delegate fight for the nomination by Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama is "good for the Republicans."

But, sadly, while we all know that to be an ironic joke. Much like "Mcain is a maverick," or "The surge is working," the media seems to be trapped inside a conventional wisdom box.
